About the NCSC

The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) is an organisation of the United Kingdom Government that provides advice and support for the public and private sector in how to avoid computer security threats. It is the UK's National technical authority for cyber threats and Information Assurance. The National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ, helps businesses, the public sector and individuals protect online services and devices that we all depend on. The NCSC acts as a bridge between industry and government, providing a unified source of advice, guidance and support on cyber security, including the management of cyber security incidents.

New guidelines will help developers make informed decisions about the design, development, deployment and operation of their AI systems. The NCSC recognizes that AI represents both transformative potential and significant security challenges for the UK's digital infrastructure.

Why AI Security is Critical for NCSC

For NCSC, AI security is fundamental to maintaining the UK's position as the safest place to live and do business online, requiring comprehensive guidance and frameworks to protect both AI systems themselves and the critical infrastructure they increasingly support.

Mileva delivered a workshop to the Five Eyes partners at NCSC, emphasising how transferable lessons from traditional cybersecurity can significantly enhance AI security frameworks and defences. The session provided insights on leveraging established cybersecurity practices to address emerging AI threats, safeguard critical infrastructure, and ensure robust AI system resilience. Through detailed analysis, interactive discussions, and real-world examples, Mileva guided participants to strategically adapt proven cybersecurity methodologies to effectively manage AI-specific risks and secure national interests in an increasingly AI-driven digital landscape.
